I’m a fan of creative leadership; and I’m also a fan of classical leadership. These two little photocopied snippets were given to me by a mentor roughly four years ago. He’s the quiet, bighearted leader of a small national company -- with the kind of humble charm that always reminded me of what David Brooks described to me once. I recall the CEO reaching into his desk and pulling out one of these snippets during one of my visits; and then he pulled the other one (laminated in plastic by himself) off his wall and gave it to me.
